How playing FPL for money works
- 1
Link your FPL team
Use the team you already have. We read your points from the official FPL data.
- 2
Join before the deadline
Pick a free or paid pool, a battle, or your mini-league. Every fee and the prize split are shown up front.
- 3
Your gameweek score is your score
Nothing to predict. When FPL marks the gameweek finished, winners are paid into their wallets automatically.
Is this FPL betting?
Not in the bookmaker sense. A sportsbook sets odds and builds its profit into them, so over time the house wins. A SquadPot pool is a fantasy competition between managers. The best FPL score wins, and the platform takes a fixed fee you can see.
| Bookmaker bet | SquadPot pool | |
|---|---|---|
| What decides the result | Odds set by the bookmaker | Your real FPL points |
| Who you play against | The house | Other FPL managers |
| What the platform takes | A margin hidden in the odds | A fixed fee, shown before you join |
| Can you get better at it | Not against the margin | Yes. Better managers win more often |
Ways to win money on FPL
Pools
Pay the entry, play your normal FPL team, and the top scorers for the gameweek split the pot. Free pools with a SquadPot-funded prize run most gameweeks.
Battles
Head-to-head. You and one rival put the same stake in and the higher FPL score takes 95% of both stakes. Good for settling an argument with your guy.
Cash mini-leagues
Bring your WhatsApp FPL league over. Entries sit in escrow instead of the admin’s account, and winners are paid automatically when the gameweek is done.
Jackpot
Hit the target score for the gameweek and you win the pot. If nobody hits it, it rolls over and grows.

Where the money goes
- 1 SP = ₦1,000. Entry fees are priced in SP, so a 2 SP pool costs ₦2,000.
- 10% platform fee comes out of a pool’s pot (5% on battles). A league manager can take up to 15% more on their own league’s pools. Both are shown before you join.
- The rest goes to the winners, split the way the pool page says.
- Pools that don’t fill are refunded in full if they set a minimum and miss it.
- Withdrawals go to any Nigerian bank account through Korapay, a CBN-licensed payment provider.
FPL for money: common questions
Is FPL betting legal in Nigeria?
Fantasy Premier League itself is a free game. Playing it for money through a bookmaker is betting, and betting in Nigeria is regulated. SquadPot works differently: there are no odds and no house to bet against. You pay an entry into a fantasy competition and the managers with the highest FPL scores win it, so the result comes down to skill. SquadPot is for adults 18 and over only.
How do I play FPL for money?
Create a SquadPot account, link the FPL team you already have, add funds to your wallet and join a pool or battle before the gameweek deadline. Your official FPL score for that gameweek is your score. If you finish in the prize places, the winnings land in your wallet when the gameweek is settled.
Do I need a new FPL team?
No. You link your existing Fantasy Premier League team by its ID. SquadPot reads your points from the official FPL data, so you keep managing your team on the FPL app exactly as you do now.
How much do I need to start?
Nothing. Free pools run most gameweeks with a real prize. Paid entries are priced in SP, where 1 SP is ₦1,000, and you can see the entry fee, prize split and fees on every pool before you join.
How do I get my winnings out?
Withdraw from your SquadPot wallet to any Nigerian bank account. Payments are handled by Korapay, a CBN-licensed payment provider.
Can I run my WhatsApp FPL league on SquadPot?
Yes. League admins can move a paid mini-league over so entries are held in escrow, the table updates itself from FPL, and winners get paid without anyone chasing transfers. Admins can also take a manager fee of up to 15% of each pot.
